Uploading and Managing Floor plans and Drawings
Updated this week

Project Onboarding streamlines the process of creating new projects. This article explains how to upload and manage sheets within the "Hierarchy & Sheets" section after your project receives business approval.

Uploading Sheets (Hierarchy Tab)

Currently, you can upload only one plan drawing sheet in the hierarchy tab. Here's a detailed guide:

  1. Navigate to your approved project and access the "Project Details" section.

  2. Within "Project Details," locate the "Hierarchy & Sheets" section.

  3. Click on the "Hierarchy" tab.

  4. Drag and drop your plan drawing sheet (in PDF format) or click to browse and select the file.

File Size and Type Limitations

  • The maximum file size for sheets is 20 MB.

  • Currently, only single-page PDF files are supported for uploading.

Previewing and Managing Uploaded Sheets

Once you upload a PDF sheet, hover over the file to view a preview. The preview window will display options for:

  • View: Click the eye icon to open the full PDF file in a separate window or tab.

  • Download: Click the download icon to download a copy of the PDF file to your local device.

  • Replace: Click the replace icon (paper with pen icon) to upload a new version of the sheet, replacing the existing one (explained further in the "Replacing Sheets" section).

Tooltips for Clarity

Each icon will have a tooltip explaining its function:

  • Eye icon: Preview

  • Paper with pen icon: Replace

  • Download icon: Download

Additional Notes on PDF Uploads

  • You can rotate, crop, or drag the PDF within the preview window to adjust the view.

  • To reset any adjustments made to the PDF, click the "Reset" option within the preview window.

DWG File Uploads (No Preview Available)

While you cannot upload DWG files at this stage, functionality for them might be introduced in future updates.

Storing Uploaded Sheets

The system stores both the original and the cropped (if adjustments were made) versions of your uploaded sheets. This ensures access to the original file for reference purposes (e.g., scale, paper size information).

Uploading Process

  • Uploading a new sheet for the first time: The system displays a preview, and upon selection, both the original and cropped versions are uploaded.

  • Updating an existing sheet: Similar to a new upload, a preview is shown. After selecting the new file, both the original and cropped versions are uploaded. The system replaces the old document with the new one, retains the cropped file, and renames the old file.

  • Regardless of the scenario, the system always displays the latest cropped version of the sheet for preview purposes, both within the platform and for capture.

Replacing Sheets

The "Replace" icon allows you to upload a new version of your plan drawing sheet. Here's how it works:

  1. In the "Hierarchy" tab, hover over the existing sheet you want to replace.

  2. Click the "Replace" icon (paper with pen icon).

  3. Select the new PDF file containing the updated plan drawing.

  4. The system will upload the new file, replacing the previous version. Remember, both the original and cropped versions of the new file are stored.

We recommend keeping your sheet files organised and using descriptive names to ensure clarity, especially when replacing them.

By following these steps, you can effectively upload and manage your project's plan drawing sheets within Project Onboarding. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at [email protected]
